The number of authorizations for the construction of property went up by 4.5 percent in March versus the same month of last year, up to 3,489. The growth was generated by higher demand in Moldova and Bucharest, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
In February the number of authorizations went down by 5.7 percent compared with February 2016 up to 2,367, after an increase by 9.2 percent in January.
Overall, in the first three months of this year, the number of authorizations of constructions for houses climbed by 1.9 percent compared with the first quarter of 2016 up to 7,417.
Out of the number of issued authorizations in March, 62.1 percent were in rural areas.
The highest growth in the number of authorizations compared with March 2016 was registered in Moldova and the highest drop in Muntenia.
„In March 2017, there has been a growth in the number of authorizations for residential buildings (150 authorizations), reflected in the development regions: North-East and Bucharest -Ilfov (114 authorizations each), South East and Center (43 each) and South-West Oltenia (5). The drops were registered in Southern Muntenia (-94 authorizations), West (-43) and North-West (-32),” said the INS.
In 2016, the number of authorizations for residential buildings went down by 1.2 percent compared with 2015, up to 38,653.
