Net investments in Romania to record level since economic crisis

The net investments in Romania in 2017 reached RON 77.964 billion, an increase by 6.4 percent compared with 2016, according to the data of the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

In the last quarter of 2017 the net investments in the Romanian economy reached RON 28.274 billion, higher by 13.5 percent compared with the last quarter of 2016. This increase was registered in all structure elements: other expenses (+ 43.2 percent), new construction works (+13 percent) and machinery, inclusing means of transport (+2.3 percent).

According to INS, in 2017 compared with 2016, the net investments in the national economy increased by 6.4 percent, a growth registered in all structure elements: other expenses, by 17.4 percent, new works construction, by 4.9 percent, and machinery, including means of transport, by 3.9 percent.

On national economic activities in 2017, compared with 2016, there is an increase in the share of net investments in constructions, by 7.1 percentage points; 33.4 percent of the net investments went into industry, a growth by 0.3 percentage points compared with 2016.

According to INS, the net investments represent the expenses for creation of new fixed assets, the development, modernization and reconstruction of the existing ones.
