Affidea, the pan-European medical service provider, has bought the chain of diagnosis centers Hiperdia. The acquisition is to be analyzed by the Competition Council.
Affidea entered the Romanian market 14 years ago and owns 17 medical centers. Last summer, Affidea purchased the Sanmed medical centers. The company is registered in the Netherlands, but its headquarters are in Hungary.
“Romania is a competitive market, on an upward trend, where patients continue to request a better and quicker access to qualitative health services (…) This purchase will support our strategy to extend our medical services in the region and serve better our Romanian patients,” said Emir Aslan Ozler, Affidea Group CEE vice-president.
“We are looking forward, once the transaction is completed, to work closely with the Hiperdia team and to offer patients, doctors and insurers, regardless of whether they are public or private, quality medical services,” Radu Lupu Gorduza, CEO Affidea Romania said.
Affidea, is the largest Pan-European medical service provider specializing in diagnostics investigations, clinical laboratories and cancer treatment services. Formerly known as Euromedic, Affidea is controlled by Swiss billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli.
Hiperdia was created in 1997 and provides services of medical imaging services, laboratory analyses and clinical consultations in 23 centers spread over 12 counties.
