The unitary salary law will bring an average growth of salaries by 56 percent. State workers will have smaller salaries, respectively 3 percent of employees with salaries of at least RON 14,000, said on Tuesday the minister of Labor and Social Justice, Lia Olguta Vasilescu.

„Through this unitary salary law, salaries grow on average by 56 percent. It’s very true that at the base of pyramid, meaning 60 percent of the public wokers will get increases by 100 percent, or even over 100 percent. If we do this at Defence, the growth will be by over 200 percent. Over 60 percent will have salary increases of at least 100 percent. Then another category with already high salaries will have increases of 50 percent, but 3 percent will have a decrease in their salaries,” said Vasilescu.

The minister said that salaries could be published next week.

„At ANAF, starting tomorrow the Public Finance minister will meet with the unions within the Finance Ministry to discuss about the salary law, because there’s an issue. For leading positions there’s an issue, as salaries are very high, RON 14,400 without bonuses,” said Vasilescu.

She said that the employees from other ministries that are on the same level with the same professional training, had salaries of maximum RON 7,000.

„To reach RON 14,000, we had some increases, up to RON 12,000, but we couldn’t reach those with salaries of RON 14,000 not even in 2022. And then we though that we cannot cross a certain limit, so that the decreases in their salaries will be around RON 1,000,” said Vasilescu.
