KFC plans to change the Wi-Fi passwords for its Drive Thru and street restaurants with questions from subjects included in the baccalaureate, according to a company statement.
Clients wishing to use the free Internet offered by the restaurants will have to answer one random question of 1,600 designed by teachers. If the answer is correct the user will be granted one hour access to the Internet, after which the process must be repeated.
For questions posing difficulties, the detailed answer will be available, helping students to absorb knowledge for the upcoming exam.
“This comes as an answer to worrying statistics showing that graduation of the baccalaureate exam is decreasing in Romania. Observing students who visit us, we find that a large number of them uses the Wi-Fi network in restaurants, which is why we decided to use this channel for their benefit. Wi-Fi Test is an alternate method to improve knowledge for the exam, a way to remind them that it’s important to learn and that it can be fun at the same time,” says Monica Eftimie, KFC chief marketing officer.
Following the implementation in restaurants, the software for routers will be made available to organizations and families who want an innovative method of learning for students.
