Key move. Minister delegated for European Funds Marius Nica resigns

Minister delegated for European Funds Marius Nica has resigned after a three-month mandate, during which he signed financing contracts with an overall value of over EUR 4 billion. Moreover, during this period were launched calls of EUR 2.3 billion and additional calls of EUR 2.4 billion are scheduled to be launched in the next three months.

„I thank ministers from the Romanian Government and the representatives of the European Commission for the collaboration, the colleagues from the Ministry,  with whom I made a good team, obtaining beneficial results for Romania on the long term. I wish the European funds beneficiaries success in implementation and i encourage the organizations to get this type of finances. The challenges of 2018, that I am convinced that mu successor will overcome, are related to: avoidance of European funds loss in the Regional Operational Program and solving the salary issues,” said Nica.

The resignation will be effective from January 22 in order not to disturb the official obligations during the visit of an European Commission delegation in Romania this week.
