Key move. Hochland Romania appoints Erik Hageleit as general director

Erik Hageleit has been appointed as the new general manager of Hochland Romania, one of the biggest players on the local dairy market, as of January 1.

“I am truly honored to join Hochland Romania as general manager and I am glad to return to Romania. It is a country where I enjoyed working and living, a place filled with first class professionals. I am very impressed with Hochland’s achievements in Romania and I cannot wait to contribute to the company’s further development,” said Hageleit.

Hageleit has a cultural and market experience in Romania and Moldova as general manager of Beiersdorf from 2007 to 2012. He is an international executive with a track record in General Management and Marketing & Sales in FMCG and a leader of intercultural teams as proven by his experience at Beiersdorf and the premium cosmetics group Maria Galland.

He has a Diploma in Business Administration at Christian-Albrechts-University, Kiel, Germany, and speaks German, English, French, Romanian, Spanish and Russian.

The German group Hochland produces the main categories of cheese and has a tradition of 90 years. It started as a family-owned business and today it is one of the most powerful international cheese producers and sells hundreds of assortments in over 30 countries nearly all over the world. The company has 12 production units in 7 countries and approximately 4400 employees.

The Hochland brand was present in Romania for more than 20 years. The local branch was opened in 1998 and has over 300 employees in 2 factories, in Sighisoara and Sovata. The Hochland Romania portfolio includes a wide range of assortments, from fine cheeses to traditional ones. The main categories are yellow cheese, processed cheese and white cheese.
