Key move: Cupru Min appoints five new board administrators

The General Meeting of Shareholders for the Cupru Min company has chosen five new members in the Administration Council on July 18.

The appointment of the new candidates was done after the Romanian Government’s decision through the Ministry of Economy. The selection procedure was conducted by the Department for the Privatization and Administration of State Participants (DPAPS) between March – July 2016.

The five members were chosen from 53 applications selected by recruiting experts, using the Transearch Orxestra Method that helps with the identification of organizational culture, leadership, teamwork and performance elements and the qualities needed to achieve Cupru Min’s main objectives. The five remaining candidates were chosen by DPAPS after careful selection and interviews with every applicant.

Cupru Min’s five new Administration Council members are: Radu – Claudiu Rosca, Radu – Calin Cosarca, Romeo Jantea, Dumitru – Remus Vulpescu and Gheorghe Chindris.

In the next period of time, after the new administrators have accepted their mandates, Cupru Min will conduct legal procedures for their registration at the Registry of Commerce and will also arrange the signing of the new contracts.

Curpu Min is a State capital company that specialises in the extraction and production of Copper and Copper ore.The company is based in Abrud, Alba Iulia and owns the largest copper reserve in Romania, the Rosia Poieni copper mine. Cupru Min extracts approximately 1.33 million tons of copper ore, resulting in the production of 4,800 tons of copper.
