Key move. Bitdefender appoints Michael Gable as group VP for data centres

Bitdefender has appointed Michael Gable as group vice president of for data centres. The move is part of Bitdefender’s expansion into the data centre market and security for virtual environments.

The data centre is a new structure that provides IT security technologies for virtual, hyper-conveying and hybrid business infrastructures. Focusing on the data centre security market will generate significant increases in a substantially potential segment, the company said in a statement.

Michael Gable is a veteran of the cyber security industry, with over 20 years of experience in sales, strategic alliances, professional services and sales. As a data centre group leader, Gable will assist sales teams, partner with relevant players on this market, and develop partner channel.

“In the context of adoption of virtualization and cloud infrastructures, the Bitdefender solutions provide security that could not be delivered to the traditional data centre universe. These security solutions are very effective against the most sophisticated cyber attacks and are invisible to attackers. They are built from scratch for modern data clusters and cloud infrastructures and deliver state-of-the-art security and benefits that enable organisations to gain added value in data centre transformation initiatives,” said Michael Gable, vice president, Bitdefender data.

Gable will report to Bitdefender’s operational director, Bogdan Irina.

“Michael Gable will have a key role in focusing our efforts on the data centre sector and bringing more than two decades of industry experience,” said Bogdan Irina, COO of Bitdefender.

Bitdefender’s Data Center and Cloud solutions – GravityZone Security for Virtual Environments (SVE) and Bitdefender Hypervisor Introspection (HVI) help organisations reduce the attack area and prevent, detect, investigate, and respond to advanced threats, new or unknown.
