President Klaus Iohannis said on Friday that the model implemented by SOS Children’s Villages association is an intervention initiative that should be replicated across Romania.
Iohannis said that in Romania, the association was launched in 1993 and since then has provided support to over 40,000 children. He visited the organization on Thursday and gave gifts to children.
“Almost seven decades ago, following the end of the Second World War, out of a simple and noble initiative, it was started what today represents a significant international movement: SOS Children’s Villages International,” said Iohannis, adding that the organization is present in over 130 countries.
