The volume of turnover from retail went up by 8.2 percent in the first five months, on adjusted series, according to the number of working days and seasons and by 7.9 percent on gross series, compared with the similar period of 2016.
The growth on gross series was due to the increase in car fuels retail in specialized stores (11.1 percent), non-food products (10.2 percent) and food, beverages and tobacco sales (3.6 percent).
The turnover growth for retail on adjusted series during January 1- May 31 was due to an increase in retail of non-food products (11.2 percent), car fuels retail in specialized stores (10.1 percent) and food products, beverages and tobacco sales (3.4 percent).
In May, the retail volume increased compared with the previous month, both on gross series, by 4 percent and on adjusted series according to the number of working days and seasons by 4.4 percent.
Compared with May 2016, the retail turnover volume increased both on gross series and on adjusted series according to the number of working days and seasons by 14 percent, respectively 12.3 percent.
In May 2017, compared with April 2017, the retail turnover volume on gross series increased overall by 4 percent, due to the increase in car fuels retail in specialized stores (10.2 percent), non-food products sale (4.1 percent) and beverages, tobacco and food products sales (0.2 percent).
