INS: Romania’s population, negative natural growth rate of 9,782 persons in December 2016

Romania’s population registered a negative natural growth rate of 9,782 persons in December 2016, considering that 15,284 children were born, while 25,066 persons passed away, shows the data of National Institute of Statistics (INS).

The number of infant deaths was 120, a growth by 20 compared with the previous month.

In December 2016 the number of newly born alive was lower by 542 than December 2015 and the number of dead persons was by 2,464 lower than December 2016. The natural growth rate was negative both in December 2016 and December 2015.

The number infant deaths was by 34 higher in December 2016 than in December 2015.
