The annual inflation rate stood at 0.9 percent in June, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), over the forecast of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) of 0.6 percent.
“Consumer prices in June 2017, compared with June 2016, increased by 0.9 percent. The average consumer price index over the previous 12 months (July 2016 – June 2017) over the previous 12 months (July 2015 – June 2016), calculated on the CPI, is – 0.1 percent. Determined on an HICP basis, the average rate is 0.2 percent, informs INS on Tuesday.
The National Bank of Romania estimates for the end of June an inflation of 0.6 percent, with a margin of uncertainty of +/- 0.5 percent. The BNR target is 2.5 percent + / 1 1 percentage points.
