In theory, Romanians are the happiest Europeans, only 1.5 pct of the population being affected by depression

Paradoxically, Romanians are, in statistics, among the most happy Europeans, despite the constant economic weights and eternal conflicts in the state. Only 1.5 percent of the population is affected by depression, according to Eurostat.

What fail to say Eurostat is the fact that the majority of the population of Romania isn’t checked about the disease that affects in average 7 percent of the European Union population.

Females are the most affected by chronic depression, with an average of 8.8 percent, most of the in Portugal and Iceland, with 17.2 percent.

The worst in this chapter are the citizens of Iceland, with 14.8 percent and Ireland, with 12 percent of the population reporting that they suffer from this disease.

In the rankings of depression, Portugal, Germany and Finland are over 10 percent of the population, and the Czech Republic, Cyprus and Bulgaria are with Romania in the other side of the top and have a small percentage – about 4 percent.
