Impact Hub Bucharest launches program for social businesses development

Impact Hub Bucharest, the organization that supports the Romanian entrepreneurship, has announced the launching of the program “Made in Social”, aiming to raise the revenues of social businesses by closing some social-to-business (S2B) contracts with several companies.

The social businesses can enter the program until September 10, 20 of them being selected as a decision result of a jury and will have four main stages of their products/services development, which include strategies of profits maximization, visible at national level through an awareness campaign and a special catalogue, networking events and meetings dedicated to key representatives of different companies.

The selection is focused on the development potential, the social impact, the commitment mission of solving an environmental issue.

“Many of the social businesses from Romania have a development potential but confront with the lack of infrastructure, of an organized framework to ensure the competitiveness, the exposure and to allow in this way the revenues growth. Through this program we aim to create a favorable context of this sector by establishing a strategic partnership between the social businesses and companies. The economic performance of a social business has impact also on social area, whether it’s about generating some revenues for certain underprivileged categories, the exploitation of some local resources or creation of essential services for community, “ said Vlad Craioveanu, CEO of Impact Hub Bucharest&Impact Hub Cluj-Napoca.

Made in Social defines social business any organization that develops commercial activities and aims at obtaining profit, but the economic objective is completed by a social objective.

It is a program made with the support of ERSTE Foundation in partnership with the Romanian-German Trade Chamber and Industry, the Commercial Section of Austrian Embassy Advantage Austria, the Netherlands-Romania Trade Chamber and Industry and Centrade Cheil Romania.
