IFC provides RON 150 mln loan to UniCredit Leasing Corporation

International Finance Corporation (IFC) granted a loan of RON 150 million to UniCredit Leasing Corporation to encourage business growth in small and medium enterprises and boost new employment.

This is the first local currency loan that the IFC is providing to a leasing company with the intention of helping Romania’s leasing market and eliminating cross-currency mismatches at the same time.

“With this agreement with UniCredit Leasing Corporation, we are aiming to reach smaller and mid-size companies in Romania and increase their access to finance,” stated Kudret Akgun, regional manager for the Financial Institutions Group.

UniCredit Leasing is a subsidiary of UniCredit Bank S.A. and a long term IFC client. IFC is a member of the World Bank Group and has 2,000 businesses around the world.
