This March, the digital transformation solutions and customized software engineering services provider Ness Digital Engineering celebrated its one year anniversary in Timişoara. On this occasion, the company moved into its new and more spacious Technology Innovation Center in Timişoara, located on the fifth floor of the United Business Center 2 (UBC 2) building. This is the first in a series of seven class A office buildings included in the Openville mixed-use project developed by the IULIUS Company in the vicinity of Iulius Mall.

The Center, a sister location to Ness’ Technology Innovation Center in Iași, enables the company to tap into Romania’s abundant engineering talent in automotive engineering, big data, cloud and platform engineering. “Over the past year, our team in Timișoara has been successfully delivering innovation to clients in the automotive, media & entertainment, and marketing/online advertising industries, and we’re excited that the team is moving into its new state-of-the-art facility,” said Paul Lombardo, Ness Digital Engineering CEO.

“We’re well equipped to accelerate digital transformation solutions for our customers, and we’re looking forward to many more successful years of growth,” added Lombardo.

The Center based in Timișoara currently has 60 employees, and it expects to grow to a few hundred employees over the next few years.  The Center is focused on delivering state-of-the-art solutions for clients in the U.S. and Europe.

Plants – the interior design centerpieces of the new location

The starting point outlined by Ness Digital Engineering for designing the Technology Innovation Center in the UBC 2 building, a location that abounds in natural light, was to provide a work environment that was adapted to the employees’ needs in terms of conducting their activities and as far as the relaxation, privacy and security of each team was concerned.

In order to obtain the best esthetic and functional results, the primary focus of the approach was on the staff’s need to benefit from vast spaces. The lobby and reception area were designed such that the first visual contact upon entering the new head office be focused on an axis of light. A distinctive feature of the new head offices is the lichen-draped walls, genuine green pictures that create a special impact.

The fitting out also focused on introducing plants into the work spaces and in the common areas, as well as on creating special relaxation areas and spaces designed for private discussions. Plants create a pleasant ambiance and also have a functional role in demising the “informal meeting” areas and providing the necessary privacy.

The premises feature a simple color scheme, including warm shades of gray with pleasantly contrasting combinations of red and black. Ness’ Technology Innovation Center in Timişoara has six conference rooms fitted with the latest communication equipments.

For their lunch breaks, Ness employees can either choose the fully equipped kitchen or the food court area and the restaurants in Iulius Mall Timişoara. In these venues, the employees benefit from special prices based on the Partner Card program that was specially created for the employees of its office building tenants. Using the Partner Card, employees get discounts as high as 25% at approximately 100 operators, including restaurants, cafés, food court operators, stores, and service operators such as cleaners, carwash, hair salon and travel agencies.

Ness occupies a 2,800 sqm area in UBC 2, the most modern office building in Timişoara. The company chose the new location based on the partnership established several years ago in Iasi with the IULIUS Group.
