Four minimis grants launched in Romania, targetting SMEs

The government approved on Thursday a memorandum regarding four minimis grants for encouraging and stimulating the set up and development of SMEs, the first of the 10 national programs for entrepreneurs this year. 

According to the Executive, the four grants are made as multi-annual programs until 2020. The grants from the state budget and the selection of beneficiaries is done annualy, taking into account the budget allocated to every program.

“The program of development of goods and development activities trade on the market” has an allocated budget of RON 21.049 million this year.

The Executive estimates 156 companies will benefit of this program, whose objective is to support economic operators, commercial companies and cooperative companies by facilitating the access to finance in order to improve the economic and technical performances of the economic operators, following the standards of Romanian state as European Union member by raising the level of competitiveness.

“The program for financing and development stimulation of micro-enterprises by the beginner entrepreneurs ” has an allocated budget of RON 22.7 million for this year and should have at least 501 beneficiaries.

The objective of the program is the development of entrepreneurial skills in optimal knowledge and management of resources, in order to rapidly adapt to the standards of markets globalization, in stimulation and support of setting up and developing the start-ups by facilitating the access of young people to the financing sources.

“The multi-annual national program for entrepreneurship development for women in SMEs sector” has a budget of RON 500, 000 in 2016, being estimated 10 beneficiaries. Its objective is to stimulate and support the set up and development of private economical structures by women by facilitating them to finance and growth of access potential to financial sources.

“The program for organizing SMEs Fairs” has this year an allocated budget of RON 3 million, estimating 600 economical operators as beneficiaries of this program. Its objective is to promote the entrepreneurial spirit, to stimulate business development and the labor force employment in SMEs, facilitation of contacts from the potential entrepreneurs or SMEs and economic agents or public institutions or private ones that offer services for SMEs sector in order to increase the number of successful entrepreneurs.
