Decision-makers in Romania don’t want higher digitalisation and there is a sort of resistance to it, said Sorin Grindeanu, the president of the National Authority for the Administration and Regulation of Communications (ANCOM), in an interview for Agerpres.
The reason Grindeanu believes people in the administration are resisting digitalisation is that some “have learned to supervise certain things which, as this process evolves, they get the impression that they’re losing their purpose or their importance in the hierarchy.”
According to the European Commission, Romania has made limited progress in responding to the three recommendations for 2017-2018 – digital policies are weak, and the coordination within the government and between the government and the IT sector is lacking.
