Foreign reserves up by EUR 331 mln in September, says BNR

The foreign reserves went up by EUR 331 million at the end of September, reaching EUR 33.29 billion, compared with August, says the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

The inflows in September amounted to EUR 735 million, which represented the European Commission account entries (EUR 573 million), the change in minimum foreign reserve made by the credit institutions and the entries in Public Finance Ministry accounts.

On the other hand, the reserve outflows were EUR 404 million, representing the change in foreign minimum reserves made by the credit institutions, payment rates and interest rates in foreign currency in the public debt account.

The gold reserve was maintained at 103.7 tones. Its value was EUR 3.95 billion in the context of international prices evolutions.

The international reserves were worth EUR 37.25 billion at the end of September, compared with EUR 36.89 billion at the end of August.

The payment with maturity in October in foreign currency in the public debt account or guaranteed by the Public Finance Ministry amount EUR 277 million.
