Faurecia opens new plant in Romania following EUR 8 mln investment

Car parts maker Faurecia has opened officially the fifth factory from Romania, near Pitesti, in Cateasca locality, following an investment of EUR 8 million.

As a result of the investment, the company owns now factories at Talmaciu, Craiova, Mioveni, Ramnicu Valcea and Catesti.

The new factory has 14,000 square meters and produces components for board panels, door panels and the central console.

„We are all here to celebrate this success of Faurecia in Romania, but also the level of our global operations. The factory that are opening officially today is one of most modern production units of our group, due to the used technology, but also due to the work conditions offered to our employees. Currently we have 370 production operators, technical specialists, team coordinators and managers. Until 2021, we’ll reach 900 employees and 500 new jobs will be created,” said Jean-Michel Renaudie, executive vice-president of Interior Systems.

The factory from Arges-Cateasca is the supplier for Jaguar Land-Rover, Fiat-Chrysler, Volvo, Ford, Peugeot-Citroen and Renault.

„In this manner, the number of employees from Romania will exceed 4,000. The factories from Romania are among the first ones worldwide. We have 300 factories in the world, in 30 countries and an official system through which we measure how god are these factories and the ones from Romania are among the best. The one from Pitesti is in top 10,” said Renaudie, according to economica.net.
