Romania offers a lot of business opportunities, because there are a lot of deficiencies, Fan Courier CEO Felix Patrascanu told the audience today during the first panel of BVB’s Made in Romania Entrepreneurs Forum.
According to Patrascanu, founder and CEO of Fan Courier, Romania has a lot of deficiencies, such as the lack of infrastructure, which are hampering business development. Having invested in technology with the purpose to shorten delivery time, the entrepreneur finds that his efforts are hampered by Romania’s road infrastructure. “The state of the infrastructure does not help. We have invested a lot to shorten delivery times by two hours. The cars leave at 12 am, and we want them to leave two hours earlier, at 10 pm instead. What is the use for that, then?” he said.
However, for entrepreneurs that signals that the market offers a lot of business opportunities. “The lack of good infrastructure will spur the creation of businesses,” he said.
He gave the example of the Neuroaxis neurology clinic, in which he and his wife Cristina Patrascanu, Dragos Tudorache si Dan Mitrea invested EUR 200,000. “We reached break even point in two months,” Patrascanu said of the clinic, which opened in Bucharest in July 2017.
