Eximtur sales gain 18 pct in H1 to EUR 27.5 mln on higher demand for business tourism

Eximtur company registered a growth of sales volume of 18 percent in the first six months of 2016 compared with the same period of 2015, respectively EUR 27.5 million. For the entire year 2016, the company estimates a growth of 10 percent, respectively sales of over EUR 47 million.

The most dynamic division of the company, Eximtur Business, grew over 25 percent, representing 67.33 percent out of the Eximtur sales, meaning EUR 18 million.

The growth from the first semester comes from the reserves and plane tickets sales bigger, which saw a 12 percent increase compared with the same period of 2015. The external tourism grew by  one percent, the domestic tourism services (seaside) with 40 percent, the domestic tourism services sales ( balneary tourism, mountains, boarding houses, the Danube Delta and other destinations from Romania) with 114 percent, incoming/touristic services sales in Romania for foreign tourists with 37 percent, the domestic accommodation  demand for business and domestic events organized for corporations expanded by 53 percent.

In the last half of the year, Eximtur consolidated its business travel division through the enlargement of the team with six more consultants, through the opening of an agency specialized in business travel in a new office from Bucharest and through the implementation of IT programs for optimal hotel reservations that allow the prices comparison and the optimal reservations in over 250,000 hotel units worldwide.

„The Eximtur Business department maintains its constant increasing trend. We invest constantly in people, in our consult agents business travel and specific technology to offer all the necessary services for business travels, from plane tickets, internal and external accommodations to events organization and business meetings, reservations and shows tickets or local trips, ” says Lucia Nora Morariu, president Eximtur.

Eximtur’s leisure division also registered a significant growth this year. In the first six months of 2016, Eximtur Leisure maintained its sales volume also for external destinations and consolidated them trough the launch and sales of more packages and its own tourism products.
