Enterprise Investors buys CBA Slovakia

The private equity fund Polish Enterprise Fund VII that is managed by Enterprise Investors (EI) has agreed to take 100 percent of shares in CBA Slovakia, an independent food retailer in Slovakia.

EI will provide EUR 16 million equity funding to deleverage as part of the deal, but the total of the transaction has not been disclosed.

The private equity fund invested EUR 173 million in five food retail in the CEE region since 1990. One of the investment was the food retailer Profi from Romania. EI has invested EUR 1.8 billion in 139 companies and exited 125 with total gross proceeds of EUR 3.5 billion. The firm is present in Slovakia since 2001 and has invested a total of EUR 100 million in its companies.
