DB Schenker Rail Romania, part of the German freight group, said it would provide car transport services for US-based car market Ford, which operates a plant in Craiova, starting this month.

Based on the complete trains concept, the cars will be transported from Germany to Romania and in reverse. The company will also carry out transports from Romania to the Netherlands and domestic routes.

Eduard Iancu, general director of DB Schenker Rail Romania, commented the deal proves the company offers competitive transport services.

The company has been collaborating with Ford since 2012, where DB Schenker Rail was in charge with providing maneuver services at Ford’s domestic plant.

DB Schenker Rail Romania has offices in the cities of Bucharest and Timisoara. It owns a fleet of train locomotives and carriages, employing 360 people.
