Dancila: We have confidence in close cooperation with EU institutions

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila said on Friday that she reiterated in talks with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker her confidence in close cooperation and constructive dialogue and assured him that Romania is determined to contribute positively during its presidency of the Council of the EU, in order to meet the current challenges faced by the Union.

“Today’s visit is also a symbolic moment for Romania which paves the way for our cooperation in a new perspective – the presidency of the EU Council. In this capacity we will continue to work together to achieve the common goal of consolidating the European project. Today with President Juncker, I reiterated our confidence in close cooperation and constructive dialogue in continuing the good cooperation we have had with the European Commission over the past months. We also expressed the hope that our joint efforts and mutual support will facilitate us achieving the desired results at the end of our presidency at the EU Council,” the prime minister said at the end of the visit of the College of Commissioners to Victoria Palace.
