Registrations of cards under the Dacia brand in Germany went up by 26.2 percent in the first eight months of 2017 to 43,471 units, on a market that increased by 2.9 percent to 2.32 million vehicles, according to the data published on Tuesday by the German auto transport body KBA.
Dacia registered a market share of 1.9 percent during January-August.
In August, Dacia cars registrations increased by 31.2 percent to 6,437 units, resulting in a market share of 2.5 percent.
On the German market, there was an increase of 3.5 percent in cars registrations in August, to 253,679 units.
Volkswagen registered a drop by 5.8 percent in cars registrations on the German market in the first eight months of the year, to 425,875 cars (a share of 18.3 percent). In August, Volkswagen registered a decrease by 10.9 percent of registrations, to 43,531 cars.
Porsche registrations increased during January- August by 0.8 percent, Seat registrations increased by 11.4 percent and Audi registrations dropped by 2.3 percent.
In 2016, new Dacia cars registrations in Germany increased by 7.3 percent to 49,124 units, on a market that rose by 4.5 percent to over 3.35 million cars.
In France the new Dacia cars registrations increased by 5 percent in the first eight months of the year to 80,388 units, which corresponds to a market share of 5.78 percent, while the market increased by 4.2 percent to 1.39 million units, according to the data published by the Committee of French Cars Manufacturers.
In 2016, the new Dacia cars registrations increased by 13.4 percent to 110,529 units, which corresponds to a market share by 5.48 percent, while the market increased by 5.1 percent to 2.015 million units.
