The company Coca-cola plans to make the first alcoholic beverage after 130 years since launching, which will be sold in Japan. It will be made based on a mix with the popular Chu-Hi, according to The Telegraph.

Chu-Hi is a mix of distilled alcohol with several juices, from kiwi to yuzu and it’s sold in the entire country.

The information has been confirmed by Jorge Garduno, the president of Coca-Cola in Japan, in an interview published on the company’s site.

„It is a beverage based on alcohol. Traditionally, it is made of shochu and sparkling water, with additional flavors. We haven’t experimented this category, but it’s the example of opportunities exploration outside of our area.”

„Chu-Hi is a beverage category exclusively found in Japan. At global level, it’s unusual for non-alcoholic beverages to be sold in the same manner as the one of alcoholic beverages. We should try this on our market,” concluded Garduno.
