Cernavoda Medgidia highway to cost up to EUR 170 million

Construction works at the Cernavoda Medgidia highway is expected to cost between EUR 120 – 170 million (RON 500 – 700 million), according to the bid offer launched by the Romanian Highways Company (CNDAR). The announcement comes after the contract granted to French construction company Colas has been canceled.

The highway should be ready within an year. The contract entails the design and construction of 20 kilometers of highway. The European Investment Bank will grant part of financing for the works from non-refundable community funds. The other part will come from the state budget.
