Car owners seeking reimbursement for auto taxes must submit requests before August 31

The reimbursement procedure of the former auto taxes states that car owners who paid these taxes before they were cancelled have only three months left to ask for their money back – the final deadline is August 31, 2018.

Those who don’t request reimbursement before the deadline will not be able to get their money back through the administrative procedure. No additional documents need to be submitted along with the request.

According to the Emergency Order by the government, the reimbursement for the former auto taxes is done as follows:

• For the special tax for cars and vehicles, pollution tax, emissions tax for cars – in 2018
• For the environment stamp for vehicles – between September 2018 and March 2019.
