The traffic node of the Ciurel Bridge in the Militari neighborhood of Bucharest is 58 percent completed, according to the Bucharest City Hall, cited by Hotnews.ro. The bridge included in the construction is 85 percent done, excluding access ramps.

In November 2017, Mayor Gabriela Firea had said that the works are going according to plan, and that it would be ready by the end of the year. However, the new estimated deadline for the bridge is November 2018, and it depends on the relocation of electric networks, of the transformation point and the RATB stops.

In the 2018 budget, the City Hall has allocated EUR 17.8 million for the Ciurel Bridge. Asked why the works were not completed at the end of this year, the municipality representatives say that it is due to the archaeological unloading that took longer than it had been planned.

The overground traffic node is made up of the bridge crossing the Dambovita River and a series of passages which ensure the crossing of the Virtutii Boulevard and its connections.

The construction of the Ciurel bridge began in 2010, with an estimated delivery date in 2014. However, the project was put on hold a few months after construction began due to financial and legal reasons. They were restarted in 2014.
