Local companies that got significant investments from Great Britain and Northern Ireland have tens of thousands of employees on their payroll, according to the latest data from the National Trade Office (ONRC).
With the British set to vote in a referendum on Thursday, where they will say whether or not they want to remain in the European Union, Business Review has looked at the way in which the Brexit could impact the local economy.

If you take a look at the list, you will see that there are key players in the pharma, energy, constructions and IT sectors that got British capital so as to fuel their local expansion.
Statistics show that Great Britain is the fifth biggest destination for Romania and the 15th largest importer locally.
The UK is also one of the key destination for Romanians looking to work abroad.
Last year, more than 150,000 Romanians worked in Britain, according to media reports.
