BNR:The international reserves amounted to EUR 36.9 bln at end-August

The foreign exchange reserves of the National Bank of Romania stood at EUR 32.9 billion at the end of August, compared to EUR 32.6 billion on July 31.

The gold stock remained unchanged at 103.7 tones. However, due to the change in the international price of gold, its value amounted to EUR 3.9 billion.

The international reserves of Romania (foreign currencies and gold) on August 31 amounted to EUR 36.9 billion, compared to EUR 36.6 billion on July 31.

During August, the BNR recorded EUR 790 million inflows  and EUR 491 million outflows.

During September, the payments due on public and publicly guaranteed foreign currency denominated debt amount to approximately EUR 207 million.

Moreover, the BNR will publish on September 30, the decisions regarding the adoption of monetary policy in 7-day term and starting from today will be published information regarding the salary policy from BNR, annually update, according to Dan Suciu, the BNR spokes.

„Currently we are among the most transparent banks regarding the salary policy,” said Suciu. He added that the maximum income of BNR governor, taking into account the supplementary incomes, is around EUR 16,000.

According to BNR data, the governor Mugur Isarescu’ s salary is RON 42,727/month and an  indemnity of Administration Council membership of RON 18,476/month. The salary of the first deputy governor, Florin Georgescu is RON 40,430/ month and an indemnity of Administration Council membership of RON 18,313/month. The salary of the deputy governor, Liviu Voinea is RON 37,764/month and an indemnity of Administration Council membership of RON 17,103/month.
