Close to 650,000 public sector workers will receive bigger salaries from August 1 and the entire salary scheme will be applied from December 2017, according to Mediafax.

The Labor minister, Dragos Paslaru, said that the Government Emergency Decision regarding the public sector salaries in June eliminates the inequalities for the public sector workers salaries system, and  its provisions are applied in two stages. The first stage will be rolled out from August 1.

The salaries will increase for 163,000 persons from the medical system, being declared a priority by Government in the moment of elaboration and adoption of decision.

Paslaru said that it’s been observed that thousands of people leave the country because of the low incomes and this is why the Government made the salaries equal for the persons that have the same functions and gave a bonus for those who have a special activity.

The decision requires the establishment of a supplementary growth of approximately 10 percent compared with the rest of the entry level salaries, aiming to increase the attractiveness of the career in the public health system.

“For the personnel specialized in medical-sanitary and auxiliary sanitary industries, the main salaries were established taking into account the roles, degree, professional stages and different levels in clinical units, non clinical units, ambulance services and emergencies structures, pathological anatomy and forensic medicine, the aim being to stimulate the job occupancy in the hospitals where there is a personnel deficit, ” said the Health Ministry.
