Around 300,000 second hand cars were registered in Romania in 2016, close to 19 percent more than in 2015, when it reached 250,662 units, says the data of the Department of Driving License Regime and Cars Registration (DRPCIV).
The official statistics shows that in December 2016, 20,943 used cars were registered, a drop by 12 percent compared with the same month of 2015.
At national level, out of the 297,290 second hand cars registered by DRPCIV in 2016, most of them are Volkswagen brand (84,817 units), an increase by 18.41 percent compared with 2015.
The preferences top is continued with Opel (47,903 units), up by 10.73 percent, Ford (33,024 units), up by 13.33 percent, BMW (23,860 units), up by 31.61 percent, Audi (23,616 units), up by 33.29 percent, Skoda (14,699 units), up by 25.79 percent, Renault (11,962 units) up by 19.36 percent and Mercedes-Benz (11,720 units), up by 24.31 percent.
On the other hand, the least registered cars are Infinity (29 units) up by 11.54 percent, Cadillac (24 units), up by 20 percent, Maserati (20 units), up by 53.85 percent and Rolls Royce (17 units), up by 240 percent.
According to the DRPCIV statistics, the new cars registrations went up in 2016 by 16.95 percent up to 94,919 units.
On the other hand, the new vehicles registrations went up in December 2016 by 8.89 percent, reaching 12,589 units, compared with December 2015.
