ArcelorMittal put USD 11 mln for a new production line in Iasi

ArcelorMittal inaugurated a new lamination line for welded pipes worth EUR 11 million, within the Tubular Products Division in Iasi. The new investment aims to increase efficiency and reduce costs, as well as to better service the local and international markets.

The new lamination facility has an annual capacity of 120.000 tons respecting all European standards of quality and efficiency. The inauguration of this lamination facility will allow 6 old lamination lines which had increased operating costs to be closed. The new line will offer solutions for different tubular appliances in the constructions industry.      

” This new lamination line is the sole major industrial investment in the area, in spite of difficult economic conditions, but sighting the great potential for development in the infrastructure and construction business in Romania”, said Cristian Gradinaru, CEO of ArcelorMittal Iasi unit.

ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Iasi is a leading manufacturer of welded longitudinal pipes in Romania and a national leader on the mechanical pipes market.
