The average download speed of fixed internet data up close to 45 percent in the first semester of this year, compared with the first semester of 2016, from 75.07 Mbps to 109.1 Mbps, according to a release of the National Authority for Administration and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) from this Monday.
In parallel, the average download speed of mobile internet data decreased from 27.72 Mbps to 19.99 Mbps due to the increase in the number of tests made by users on this segment and the data traffic made through mobile networks.
The statistics for fixed and mobile internet were generated by NETograf.ro – ANCOM application for internet access test, in the first semester of the year, based on approximately 135, 000 valid tests made on internet users from Romania.
„The statistics on the internet access quality from Romania generated by Netograf.ro shows that in the first semester of 2017, Romanians had national average speeds of 109 Mbps download fixed internet data, registering download average speeds of 180 Mbps for the connections via wires, respectively 60 Mbps for wireless connections,” says ANCOM.
