75 percent of people use electronic devices to avoid unwanted conversations

Three quarters of users of electronic devices say they use them to avoid unwanted conversations, a recent survey by Kaspersky Lab shows.

According to the survey, 72 percent of respondents use the device when they do not know what to do in a certain social context. Similarly, 46 percent of people admit to using an electronic device just to make time pass by faster, and 44 percent use it daily as entertainment.

Moreover, almost one third of participants to the study (31 percent) would rather rode a cab or search for directions using a website or an app, because they find it easier than asking someone else.

Moreover, 34 percent of those questioned say they worry they will get bored if they do not have access to a connected device, while 12 percent worry that they will not be able to pretend they are busy.
