E-Distribuție Banat finalised the modernisation project of the Teba primary station, after investments of almost 10 million lei, or EUR 2.1 million, improving the quality of the electricity distribution services for approximately 16,500 consumers.

The 110/20 kV station now provides a more reliable service for household and also industrial consumers in the central part of the City of Arad, among which the water treatment plant, the Arad Airport, the County Hospital, the air traffic control centre. In total, the Teba station serves almost 16,500 low voltage consumers and 16 large consumers, which are supplied via the medium voltage lines.

The modernization works at Teba primary station included the replacement of the 110 kV primary gear and the secondary circuits with state-of-the-art equipment, providing high quality technical performance, improved grid reliability and optimised maintenance.

Also the capacity of the station was doubled from 25 MVA to 50 MVA, by installing a new power transformer. Therefore, the station will offer the possibility to connect to the grid any new customers in the industrial area of the city in optimum conditions.

The above-mentioned works are part of a wider investment program carried out by Enel’s distribution companies in Romania, aimed at securing a proper service for end users, allowing remote control and improving the quality and security of the network, while also complying with Enel’s environmental standards.

As a result of grid modernisation, the three E-Distribuție companies in Muntenia, Banat and Dobrogea are the top performing electricity distribution operators in Romania in terms of quality of service in the past years.  According to National Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE) data, in 2017, the System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) for E-Distribuţie Muntenia was 145 minutes, the best in the country, while the national average was approx. 284 minutes. E-Distribuţie Dobrogea and E-Distribuţie Banat have remained among the top performers in Romania with a reported SAIDI of 185 minutes and 259 minutes respectively.
