Cognizant Softvision Romania, part of global software manufacturer Cognizant, understands the need to support the medical system during this period and donates $73,000 to The Oncology Institute “Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuţă” Cluj-Napoca.
The donation is made to the Romanian Oncological Association “Ion Chiricuță” and is meant to support the first line medical staff and the patients affected by this virus. The amount is intended to be used to purchase over 5,000 FFP2 masks, 3,000 test kits for the diagnosis of COVID-19 virus.
“A great deal of responsibility and collective effort is needed to overcome the health crisis caused by the pandemic, at national level. Our health comes first and foremost, and medical institutions and doctors need continuous support in this context. Whenever necessary, we respond positively to the needs of the healthcare system and now we have decided to concentrate our efforts on the Oncological Hospital in the city of Cluj-Napoca, a community of which we have been part of for over 20 years. We are also pleased to see that both the state and the private system are deeply involved and support key and relevant initiatives in these exceptional times.
We have full confidence that together, acting responsibly and caring one for another, we will overcome this situation. It is also very important that we remain united even after this crisis is overcomed”, said Mihai Constandis, Country Manager, Cognizant Softvision Romania.
