After three months of voluntary work and over 60.000 warm meals provided to doctors and medical staff from Bucharest hospitals and elderly in isolation, registered in the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Sector 6 (DGASPC Sector 6), the team led by Chef Adi Hădean continues the project “Solidar Social” until the end of the year. Along with the post-lockdown relaxation, they continue to focus on preparing warm meals for vulnerable people in Sector 6, while aiming to expand the project in the rest of the city and also to reach other cities in the country.

Their objective is to carry out a national-care program which, on a long run, will support people in need.

Our desire is to assist vulnerable people to break the chain of helplessness and to actively participate in achieving their own well-being. As the proverb says, give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, but teaching a man how to fish, you’ll feed him for a lifetime.” – Chef Adi Hădean

The humanitarian action “Solidar Social” is possible thanks to the involvement of over 80 volunteers (in the kitchen, assembly and transport), to the donating sponsors and to people donating money on the activsocial.ro platform. Edenia, the brand belonging to the Macromex portfolio, and one of the main supporters of the campaign, announced recently to extend the donation in products until the end of the year. PepsiCo Romania, through the PepsiCo Foundation, has also granted $ 105,000 to the campaign. PepsiCo will contribute with $ 60,000 for the distribution of 1,200 warm meals a day to vulnerable groups in hospitals during a month, schools and community centers nationwide, while $ 45,000 will be in products.

Over the course of three months have joined Penny Market, Unilever, Hochland, Nordic, Univer, Orkla Foods. The meals are transported respecting all safety protocols, with a fleet of 5 vans offered by Autonom and fueled by MOL Romania and OMV Petrom.

“Solidar Social” is a humanitarian project initiated on April 1 by the Adi Hădean Association, with the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Sector 6 (DGASPC Sector 6). The campaign was joined by many companies and by dozens of volunteers, who prepare warm meals daily for vulnerable people in the fight against Coronavirus: doctors and medical staff from Bucharest hospitals and elderly in isolation.
