Updated Strategy for the Digital Agenda for Romania 2014-2020 is published

The Ministry for Information Society published on its website the July updated version of the National Strategy for the Romanian Digital Agenda, which says that “a complete implementation of the strategic vision for the ITC sector in Romania, that will fulfill the specified targets will require a total investment of EUR 2.4 billion,” according to Euractiv.ro

According to the document published by the Ministry of Information Society, the impact of the EUR 2.4 billion investments will translate into a 13 percent GDP growth, while the number of jobs is expected to grow by 11 percent and administrative costs are expected to decline by 12 percent during 2014-2020.

The programs with European funds should insure investments of EUR 850 million.

Out of the total EUR 850 million covered from the Operational Program, broadband will be the most significant, totaling EUR 495 million, followed by e- government and inter-operability requires EUR 100 million, ITC in education EUR 85 million, ITC in healthcare EUR 50 million, cloud computing and social media EUR 30 million and ITC in culture EUR 15 million.
