“Turkish Starbucks” enters Romanian market

Coffeehouse chain Kahve Dünyası will enter Romania with two units which will operate from Anchor Group’s malls in Bucharest.  The chain offers outside of Turkish coffee a wide selection of chocolate. Besides Turkey, Kahve Dünyası also has a coffee shop in London, in Picadilly Circus, according to economica.net.

The chain is owned by Altinmarka, an important Turkish producer of Industrial Chocolate. Half of Altinmarka’s revenues is generated by the Turkish market, although the company exports to over 40 countries.

In Romania, Altinmarka products are distributed by Gold Label Romania, with a turnover of EUR 4.5 million in 2013.

Anchor Group announced on Thursday that the refurbishment of Bucuresti Mall and Plaza Romania is on schedule, with 90 percent of the leasable area for the two shopping malls already contracted. The Turkish group also announced new tenants, among which Subway and LC Waikiki, Ecco, Tekzen, CCC, Brioche Doree.
