About 67 percent of the tourists travelling through Happy Tour this summer have chosen Antalya, in Turkey, the country remaining the favourite holiday destination of Romanians for this summer season.
The consumer behaviour of Romanian tourists has changed considerably this year, says the travel agency. “First of all, tourists have opted for early booking offers launched at the beginning of the year and have booked summer holidays in the first quarter of the year, with discounts of up to 40 percent. In 2013 our tourists have chosen better accommodation conditions and more expensive vacations,” said Madalina Grosu, product manager Happy Tour.
Happy Tour operates five weekly charter flights to Turkey. Prices start at EUR 350 per person for 7 days and can reach EUR 3,000 per person in five-star ultra all-inclusive resorts. Overall, some 7,000 Romanians are travelling to Turkey this summer through Happy Tour.
Other popular summer destinations besides Turkey are the Greek islands, especially Mykonos, Santorini, Corfu and Crete but also Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife.
Happy Tour is the largest travel agency on the Romanian market, according to its data. Last year it reported a turnover of over EUR 57 million and the target for this year is EUR 70 million.
