The Tetarom I industrial park in Cluj-Napoca will be expanded with an additional 12 hectares, following an investment of RON 42 million, plus VAT, writes Agerpres newswire.

Horea Uioreanu, president of the Cluj County Council, has signed today the execution contract. The works on the site will start in approximately two weeks and will last approximately 17 months.

“This contract signing for expanding the Tetarom I industrial park is important for Cluj county, it is a project which was needed. The best offer was submitted by the consortium made up of ACI SA Cluj, SC Electromontaj SA, SC Nord Conforest SA,” said Uioreanu.

The total value of the works will amount to approximately EUR 1 million, with half of these sum being covered from European funds.

“Tetarom 1 was built on European funds and initially had 20 hectares. This project will take the infrastructure on 12 other hectares on which the park expanded in 2007. At that time, there were no money to introduce utilities, build roads and capacity,” said Viorel Gavrea, Tetarom manager.
