Romanian airline Tarom will launch a direct flight from Iasi, western Romania, to Munich in Germany starting October 25, according to Mediafax. The carrier will operate the flight two times a week on Thursdays and Sundays.
The introduction of a direct flight from Iasi to Munich was something that had been requested by the local business community and it is expected to have a positive impact on the region’s economy, said Marius Bodea, the director of the Iasi International Airport.
Also starting October 25, low-cost airline Blue Air will launch two daily flights on the Bucharest-Iasi route as well as direct flights from Iasi to Paris, London and Rome.
The Iasi airport expects a traffic of 350,000 passengers in 2015, according to Bodea.
