Bucharest and Cluj come first in the ranking as 48 percent of all IT and technology companies are based there. Cluj-Napoca also has the highest number of IT experts as per the entire city population, since one in 25 people who live in Cluj work in IT.

Bucharest, Cluj, Iasi and Timis gather 73 percent of all the employees in the local IT industry, with Bucharest offering half of the IT jobs in Romania,. However, in Iasi, Dolj and Bihor, the number of IT employees has increased by 30 percent compared to 2013.

The net average salary in mid-2015 declared by the representatives of the surveyed companies was approximately RON 2,600. More than half of these companies have, or will raise salaries by approximately 16 percent by the end of the year.

The survey was carried out based on the declared revenues of all the 14,000 companies analyzed as well as on the statements of 393 representatives of the largest IT companies in Romania.
