Stephen James Orlesky is the new CEO of the Romanian International Bank (RIB) after the National Bank of Romania approved the appointment.

The bank’s management team will also include Ana Elena Cernat, Mioara Popescu and Radu Vasilescu who were appointed executive vice-presidents.

Orlesky has over 20 years of experience in the banking field and has previously worked for Berlarusian Bank (part of Getin Holding Poland) and prior to that for the Royal Bank of Canada, according to capital.ro.

“We will implement the Getin Holding business model by developing RIB products to achieve group standards, while the needs of the local market will remain a priority with the bank focusing mainly on retail and small business. The Romanian International Bank is currently undergoing a rebranding process as it will transform into Idea Bank and move to Hermes Business Campus”, according to the new CEO.

Getin Holding, which is controlled by Polish businessman Leszek Czarneck, announced last year it would be taking over Romanian International Bank.
