Star Storage appoints Daniel Ionescu as marketing director

Star Storage, Romanian provider of storage solutions, archiving and information management, announced the appointment of Daniel Ionescu to the position of marketing director starting October 2015. Previously, Daniel was strategic marketing director at TotalSoft for five years and served for 10 years as director of operations at Bitdefender.

With significant experience in software development and Romanian product placement to international markets, Ionescu will be responsible for defining and implementing the marketing strategy of Star Storage. His main objectives are aligning the solution portfolio to market trends, strengthen the marketing team and integration with direct sales teams and strategic international partnerships.

“I see in Star Storage a high potential for development, based both on its own archiving solutions and a mature approach to modern technologies such as mobile applications and solutions in the cloud. The challenge in the short term is to educate the local market to understand the benefits of cloud computing and services sold under the brand StarVault,” the new marketing director said.

Ionescu graduated from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and the Romanian-Canadian MBA from the University of Ottawa with a degree in marketing.

Star Storage has 15 years’ experience and a portfolio of over 500 customers in industries such as banking, telecom, manufacturing, utilities and public administration, on four continents in countries like USA, Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland and South Africa.
