Second edition of Petrom Bucharest International Half Marathon due to start May 19

After gathering more than 3,000 runners on the first edition of the marathon in June 2012, the organizers of Petrom Bucharest International Half Marathon expects us in Constitutiei Square, on May 19, to be part of the second edition of the running movement.

The traffic will be closed Sunday, May 19, between 06:30-14:30, from Constitutiei Square to Libertatii Blvd, Cosbuc Square, Unirii Blvd, Alba Iulia Square, Decebal Blvd, Muncii Square, Basarabia Blvd (National Stadium zone), Natiunile Unite Blvd, Bratianu Blvd, Calea Victoriei (until Odeon Theatre), Eroilor Blvd. See the complete map here.

The Popular Race will take place on the streets that surrounds The People’s House, between 09.30-11.00. The Children’s Race will be on Libertatii Blvd, between 12.30 and 13.30.

The winner of the Half Marathon was Anthony Maritim from Kenya, with an average time of 1h3min51sec for 21.097 kilometers. The second and the third place were won by Bartale Richard, with 1h4min19sec and Andrew Kiprop, 1h4min25sec, both fromKenya, too. Runners in this race came from Romania, Spain, Sweden, Israel, England, Ireland, Italy, Ethiopia, Kenya, Serbia, Germany, Belarus, Republic of Moldavia, Hungary, Poland, Austria, Croatia, France, CzechRepublic, Slovenia, Russia, Bulgaria, Estonia, Australia, Holland, Belgium and Ukraine. A total of 50 prizes with a total value of EUR 15,000 were given at the Petrom Bucharest International Half Marathon.
